Treating AI as a render engine > prompting and praying.

I’ve been testing workflows that use AI strictly as a render engine rather than an idea generator. I created the base animation in C4D to get the motion exactly right. Kling’s video to video just wasn’t stable enough to hold the motion accuracy I needed, so I pivoted to running the raw frames through Nano Banana to apply the different style treatments.

I’ve been testing workflows that use AI strictly as a render engine rather than an idea generator. I created the base animation in C4D to get the motion exactly right. Kling’s video to video just wasn’t stable enough to hold the motion accuracy I needed, so I pivoted to running the raw frames through Nano Banana to apply the different style treatments.

The reason I’m so excited about AI is that suddenly I can make literally anything I want. I no longer need to rely on spending years learning software just to be able to experiment.

I made this piece in about 3 hours, and traditionally it would’ve taken weeks to get to this output having to concept, sculpt, texture, rig, light, animate, render, comp, sound design (not to mention needing certain computer capabilities).

I understand the commercial aspect and sure, there will likely be certain rules you’ll need to uphold if using this stuff to make money, but right now I’m loving piecing these together without any of the additional tedious work. Suddenly I have this new creative freedom to make anything I can think of.

Once again, AI is not here to replace us, it’s here to aid us in reaching our creative goals.

So my last workflow video went a bit crazy, so let’s push the actual craft forward a bit.�
Part 1 was basic shapes. Part 2 is stylized 3D characters.�
First, I built out a system to generate stylised 3D heads from photos. Then I animated some basic shapes in After Effects to match, focusing on perfect key frame timing. Then using Kling reference video to video, I used the image and the after effects comp together to create my final animations.

Everyone is panicking about AI replacing 3D artists, but they’re missing the actual workflow. If you have foundational After Effects skills and an understanding of motion principles, you already have a massive unfair advantage.

You don’t need to spend years mastering C4D or Blender lighting setups anymore. You just need to build structural black-and-white mattes, curate high-level reference images for your look-dev, and let Kling handle the heavy lifting through your node graph.
